St. Mary's Island is connected to the mainland by a short man-made causeway which is covered by the tides twice a day. The lighthouse was built in 1898 and was in service until 1984.

  2. I remember fishing for crabs there as a boy, waiting until the last minute to cross the causeway. The lighthouse is nicely captured in this photo.

  3. It's a really nice place for a day out, specially with kids. I have yet to go up the lighthouse, would love to some day!
