Mike Ashley, Newcastle United's owner, also owns the highly successful Sports Direct chain. These stores are characterised by somewhat chaotic crowded floor layouts. At the upmarket Westfield shopping centre adjacent to the Olympic Park in Stratford a more stylish image is presented.

Andy Carroll goes to Liverpool

Both local and National news has  followed the story of the recent sale of Newcastle United's young talismanic striker to Liverpool for £35 million. The Newcastle Chairman, Mike Ashley, has few fans on Tyneside and Carroll  lost a few for agreeing to change clubs. One disgruntled fan has made his views known on the Metro bridge high above the Ouseburn valley.
